James Simmons believes that there is a story that needs to be told, and told often, about a world full of people who matter, who have been made in the image of their creator, and who were made with a purpose. The world tells us everyday that we are not good enough, or that we are all alone, or that we should be someone entirely different than who we were created to be. Simmons’ music is about the journey toward realizing that God is good, that he is for us and not against us, and that he wants us to know him intimately.
With piano/acoustic guitar driven tracks, and a lyrical style influenced by folk legend David Wilcox, pop duo Shane and Shane, and 15 years as a worship leader, James writes songs that reach for a deep connection with the listener. Giving us a glimpse into the tremblings of the weak, the anguish of the broken, and the redemption of that which was lost, we see through Simmons’ music what it looks like to be authentically human. |
